Mentsuyu - Japanese soup stock

What is Mentsuyu?
Mentsuyu (めんつゆ) is a condiment made from dashi, soy sauce, mirin and sugar. Mentsuyu is most often eaten as a dipping sauce with somen, soba, udon and hiyamugi. It is very convenience seasoning for cooking in Japan. You can make some soup, sauce, dressing with mentsuyu. Also cooking stew fish, meat and vegetable...etc.  Japanese people who live in Japan mostly buy mentsuyu not cook it oneself. But if you have good recipe of mentsuyu, broaden your cuisine. And you can enjoy different taste and flavor with change dashi, soy sauce, mirin, sake etc..

How to Cook
Put all ingredients into pot and boil those once. Then cool it.

Cooking ingredients (Serves 1 person, 5min)
150ml----water
1 tsp------hondashi*
1 tsp------kombu dashi powder
3 tbsp----mirin
2 tbsp----usukuchi Soy sauce
1 tbsp----koikuchi Soy sauce

Hondashi* is Soup stock powder made from dried bonito Kombu Dashi Powder is Soup stock powder made from konbu.
