Deep-fried eggplant in broth "Nasu no Agebitashi"

Don't feed autumn eggplant to your wife? 
Do you know "Nasu | 茄子" ?  It is "Eggplant" and called in Japanese. 
Japanese people like to eat fried eggplant with broth. And Japan have proverb regarding eggplant since long time ago "Don't feed autumn eggplant to your wife | 秋茄子は嫁に食わすな"  It have meaning are  "Because they're too delicious" "Because they'll give her the chills"  "Because their lack of seeds will reduce her fertility"  



Eggplant in Japan have beautiful purple color and sharp is long.  The ingredient of eggplants is almost water, but it has "Potassium" and into the peel have "Nasunin".  
"Potassium" work to the lower temperature of the body because it discharge moisture from the body.
"Nasunin" is kind of the purple anthocyanin-based dye. And it work for cleaning blood and effect to decrease cholesterol score in the blood. 

So, don't feed it to your wife too much especially pregnant woman. But share it with your wife a little bit because it is delicious :)

How to Cook
Step 1 Make broth 
Put red pepper and mentsuyu into pot and boil those once. Then transfer to container for prepare soaking. 
Step 2 Deep fry eggplant
Cut eggplant half, and cut a shallow on the half of eggplants for cook it quickly.
Deep fry eggplant in a oil (between 170℃ to 180℃ / 340℉ to 360℉ )   
Soak fried eggplant into broth.   
Serve with toppings. 
You can eat it both of hot and cold. 

Preparing Cooking Utensil
Kitchen knife, cutting board, measuring cup, pot, tray

Ingredients (serve 2p, 5 min)
4----eggplant (10cm : small size)
Around 150ml to 200ml--mentsuyu
1------red pepper
Julienne of red pepper for toppings

Cooking ingredients 
150ml----water
1 tsp------hondashi*
1 tsp------kombu dashi powder
3 tbsp----mirin
2 tbsp----usukuchi Soy sauce
1 tbsp----koikuchi Soy sauce
How to Cook
Put all ingredients into pot and boil those once. Then cool it.
